After missing the first scheduled games due to snowy weather, Southwest started their season against the Minnetonka Skippers on Thursday, April 15th.
JV lost, but came away with some goals for improvement and a good attitude. The Varsity team, lost as well, but can feel really good about the battle. They held them to only 2 runs thanks to solid pitching by Kal Harris. Other notable strengths included some confident pop-fly fielding and catcher Lindsey Bartholomew being an impenetrable wall behind the plate. It was a dramatic game which left multiple Skippers stranded on base and more than a few nail-biting moments with a count of 3-2. Looking forward to the next game on April 20 against St. Paul Central! Comments are closed.
