ABOUT THE CAMP
Helping Your Players Get Better In The Summer

I have enjoyed coaching many players over the years at the Revolution Softball Camps and look forward to picking up where I left off. Over the last few years, we have coached many youth and high school players and look forward to helping them improve their skills to take their games to the next level.

At our softball camp at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MNA, our staff will include college coaches, high school coaches, and NCAA players. These coaches are dedicated to the individual development of each camper and serve as great role models. We are a teaching camp that also provides competitive scrimmaging opportunities- all in a fun and positive atmosphere. We offer overnight, extended day, and day camp options.

Lakers run  into a buzz saw  in bloomington

All three Lakers Fastpitch teams were in action Monday April 17th at Kelly Fields in Bloomington.  The  Varsity Squad mounted an impressive comeback after a 10 run 4th inning to take the lead 10-6. But in the end, couldn't shut down Bloomington Kennedy and dropped the game 11-22.  One bright spot was Hope Kepler who went 3-4,  scoring 3 runs.

The JV Squad managed only one run in a 13-1 loss.

Skipper Bob Fine made his coaching debut for the Lakers B-Squad falling to Kennedy 27-7.

The JV and B Squad are back in action on Wednesday April 19th at Benilde-St. Margaret's.

April (revised) & mAY cALENDARS

Spring Weather in Minnesota...what can you say? The coaching staff makes every effort to keep these schedules (Varsity, JV and B-Squad) up-to-date, but let us tell you, it ain't easy. Use this update like a cheat sheet to get a sense of the schedule but before gassing up the car, it's worthwhile to check a second source (like the school athletic calendar) or one of the tools we've built to help communicate. Each Sunday during the season we email a "look-ahead" for the week.  Please, subscribe to our e-mail list if you'd like those updates. Also we use a mobile app called "Band" for iPhone and Android. If you join the "Lakers Fastpitch" Band, you can get up-to-the-minute updates on your smartphone. We can include rich content like driving directions to field locations, photos. We can also group chat if there's a last minute change to the schedule or cancellation.

Varsity and JV  Take a pair from  the Roosevelt Teddy's on  Friday April 14th.

4/15/2017

In a wacky weather-day, typical of April in Minnesota, the Laker Varsity (2-0) and Jr. Varsity (1-0) emerged victorious against the Minneapolis Roosevelt Teddies at historic Pershing Field.. Both games featured offensive fireworks from the home squad including a walk-off double from Ani Cassellius in the bottom of the 6th inning.  The  Varsity game got off to a rocky start when the Lakers spotted the Teddies 8 runs.  But the Lakers' battled back, eventually tying the game then pushing ahead by one run 9-8 in the 4th. In the bottom of the 6th with the Lakers up 17-8 and two runners in scoring position, the Teddies pulled the infield and outfield inn hoping to cut off the run. Cassellius unloaded a bomb to left centerfield to the base of the fence pushing the final run needed to put the 10-Run rule into play.

Across the field the JV was hard at work and showed off their own offensive might stomping the Teddie's JV Squad 17-5. Assistant Coach Richard Sisson said pitcher Alexis Mather came in relief  and pitched to contact,  letting her strong defense keep Roosevelt in check. The game was JV Coach Joe B. Fine's first coaching victory as a Southwest Coach.

The Southwest B-Quad game  was canceled.

All three teams head to Bloomington, MN Monday at 2:45 to take on Bloomington Kennedy.
